You have to be careful what is used to moisturize the day you plan to Mystic Tan.
·Do not use a moisturizer that is heavy, or contains cocoa butter, mineral oil, petrolatum, or any heavy oils.
·Moisturizing
·Exfoliating
Wash hands after using the MysticLife and wait at least 4 – 6 hours after doing a MysticTan before applying.
The best tans are created on fresh, moisturized skin. Think of staining a piece of furniture. If the furniture surface is not smooth, the paint will penetrate the cracks, exposing imperfections. Your Mystic Tan needs to start on a smooth surface.
Mystic Tan products for exfoliating include our Exfoliant in Juniper Breeze, or the MysticReady exfoliating body wash (2 in 1) in Desert Bloom.
Moisturizing is the most important step of all. Imagine a sponge - If you run a dry sponge under water, the water simply rolls off of the dry surface. However, a damp sponge will hold many times it’s weight in water. The same thing goes for your skin. If your skin is dry, the Mystic Tan Myst can’t absorb as well. DHA also uses the moisture in your skin to help produce the tan, so moisturizing during the life of your tan is very important.
Exfoliating is the first important step to getting the best results from your Mystic Tan.
Mystic Tan Products that help with moisturizing include Maintainer, HyperMoist, and MysticLife( this product has DHA in it). Maintainer is an Aloe Vera based moisturizer that is okay to use the day you plan to do your Mystic Tan session (a small layer applied to the skin is all you will need).
HyperMoist is developed to use right before your session, and instantly moisturizes your skin and enables the tanning myst to absorb easily and completely (it will absorb more quickly then Maintainer).
MysticLife is a tan extending lotion developed to use during the life of your tan – it moisturizes and also has some DHA in it to help prolong your tanning results.
HyperTan was developed to help you get your tanning results in half the time. It is a clear gel that you apply just before doing your MysticTan session. It contains amino acids, which is what the DHA reacts with to make your tan. You apply a small amount all over (if you can’t reach the middle of your back, its okay, it won’t be uneven!) and your tan will start to develop in 2-4 hours vs the regular 4-6 hours. You still have to wait at least 4-6 hours to take a shower, and the longer you wait to take that first shower, the darker you will get. HyperTan also contains Nutramist, which helps even out the moisture level in the skin and reduce the “reaction odor”.
HyperTan is different from HyperMoist in that HyperTan is a tanning accelerator that evens out the moisture level in the skin, but HyperMoist is an instant moisturizer. Apply the HyperMoist first, then the HyperTan.
The MysticFresh is a freshening spray that you would spray on about 1 hour after your tanning session. It captures and encapsulates the “reaction odor”, and leaves you smelling fresh. When you use this spray, you won’t even be able to tell you did a MysticTan. This is one of the most popular products in our new line.
MysticGlo is a Bronzing Shimmer Cream for the face, and a lotion for the body. They provide a beautiful, subtle glow to your tanned skin while adding moisture as well. It is cosmetic only (no DHA) and washes off with soap and water. The cream for the face can also be used as a makeup base.
MysticSunless products include the Sunless lotion, spray, and foam. They can be used for an all over tan, or for touching up your MysticTan. Great for UV tanners who don’t like to tan their face, or those who tan before going on a trip, and want to keep their MysticTan going longer. The MysticTan Perfection spray can also be used for touchup, but is not recommended for all over use. Every customer needs a touchup product of some sort, to correct mistakes.
